No appt until 12 weeks?!

I'm 5w2days with the first. Had my blood test and all but my doc said they don't see me until 12 weeks for my first appt. And we only get to hear the heartbeat-- no ultrasound. That's 7 weeks away. What am I supposed to do before then? Take a test every week until May to be sure I'm still pregnant? I'm worried :(

I'd find a different dr. U have the power to change Drs if u don't like what's happening with ur current one

Most people I've heard say that there's one at 7-8 weeks. A long prenatal appt that goes over history, blood type, etc. I don't get any of that :(

That's a long time but every doctor is different... I was a little over 7 weeks when I found out I was pregnant and my doctor saw me at 8 weeks and 3 days. I received a welcome bag with goodies, had an ultrasound and listened to the heartbeat for the first time and was given pictures as well as a urine and several blood tests. He also wanted to know the family history of both my partner and I. I'm now 10 weeks and 4 days and my next appt is when I'm 12 weeks and 1 day. I just received my fetal Doppler today and I now get to listen to my baby's heartbeat whenever I want to to ease my mind. I would recommend ordering one for later on when the heartbeat can be detected.

I never heard 12. I was told week 10. I had a miscarriage, so if I get pregnant again they will see me sooner.

Mine was scheduled at 12 weeks too. They went over my history and did an ultrasound. (I actually had bleeding at 7 weeks so they got me in for an ultrasound right away... Turned out I had a blood clot in my uterus!) I think it's normal but annoying 😕

My first Dr appointment was 11 weeks. A lot of them do it that way at least that's what I've heard. They said that if I have any odd symptoms, or any pain, blood, cramping, etc to call and they would see me sooner. But for a normal, healthy low risk pregnancy, a bit later I think is fine.

My 8 week appointment was useless.  First heartbeat/ultrasound was at 11 weeks.  If you feel more comfortable go with a Dr that will see you before.
