What is clomid?

So I've seen this a couple of times and wasn't really sure what it was. My BF and I have been trying for almost a year and I have been taking Prenatals as well and trying to track my ovulation cycle with the tests and feel like nothing's happening.

So with clomid do you need a prescription for it? Is it safe to take? Has it worked?

Answer

Yes you need a prescription and it's usually only given if you have problems ovulating. It can force you to ovulate by blocking the estrogen receptors and making your body think it needs to produce more. This can make you release more eggs or better quality eggs as well. My dr put me on it lasts month because we found out my left tube was blocked. I got pregnant the first round.
