I'm 19 and I've never had sex, never dated, never kissed. My parents didn't allow dating and I was brought up to only have sex after marriage. As I've grown up and thought about it more I don't think it's for me. I really respect people who can wait but I don't think I'll be able to and I don't think I want to.

My mum doesn't know this but I was talking to her about my brother (he's 16 and my dad never really had the Talk with him so I was telling her to do it and tell him to watch LaciGreen's videos so she didn't have to do it all) and the sex before marriage thing came up. She started ranting about the sex ed system and how it should be abstinence only and I argued against it without really thinking what she'd think of my personal decisions.

I don't know if she picked up on my change of attitude but she did say something along the lines of "you never forget people you have sex with so it's best to wait until marriage for the one'" or whatever. My parents married in their late 30s after knowing each other for only 6 months and they're now 60. I have no idea about their past relationships because it's not something we discuss but I've picked up over the years that my mum has regrets from college and regarding sex.

I don't think I'd ever forget sex but I don't think it would bother me with future partners if I had multiple? I obviously have no experience though so what are yours?
