Does vaping do more harm than previously thought?

See screenshots from the news article below. I live in California and work on city property, where using a vape in public will get you slapped with a $500 fine if you are caught. Some people swear by them, but a lot of healthcare professionals are beginning to agree that the chemicals in them are just as bad as cigarettes. What do you think?

1 you can make your own nicotine juice so you know what going into it, no its not regulated because it's new, yes at high temp vaping the juice can form formaldehyde which is present in cigarettes in higher quantities, personally?  I found e juice that is 100% veg rather than PG which I prefer, it's a little runnier though, I've looked up so much research on it and pretty much find a good pen and the right nic concentration and it's a better substitute for cigarettes.  I've had mine since October,  when I was smoking half a pack a day, since then I've bought 3 packs all for when I was out drinking... One thing you notice after a few weeks... cigarettes will make you dizzy as f.

I believe it is equally harmful.  But it should be allowed in public. It is here in Georgia. If you get fined in public for vaping,  you should get fined for smoking cigarettes!

It's easy to have stats on something that has been around for so long, like cigarettes. I think the pens do just as much harm. And I know this isn't appropriate age to be smoking, my friends 14 yr old brother got pneumonia from his vape pen.

I believe vaping is just as bad, even worse, than cigarettes. I tried quitting smoking cigs by switching to vapor cigs and ended up with a horrible sore throat and sinus infection. Nothing helped my pounding head and I felt like I had the flu. Anyone else have this experience?

I stopped smoking using e-cigs, then my BIL, brother, sister and boyfriend all stopped too as I found it so easy. 5 less smokers because of e-cigs is pretty good. We do it in bars in the UK. It's only water vapour, there's no damage to other people. A $500 fine is pretty bad. Especially if you're still allowed to smoke cigarettes on the St.
