Am I in early labor???

I am 3 days past my due date and for the past 3 hours I have been having contractions. They have averaged about 50 secs with about 5 mins apart. I took a bath and they stopped for about 20 mins. Then they started again and kept going 5 mins apart. I haven't had one in 20-30 mins. Am I in early labor or is this just Braxton hicks still??

When my labor first started my contractions were anywhere from 20-60min apart. I saw my midwife anyway & my waters had just torn not broken however I was still technically in labor. She sent me home to rest and I managed broken sleep for a few hours somehow. I woke up at 5am in full on pain & thank god I'd rested as it was another 14hrs before my baby was born my emergency c-section & i spent almost all that time in the hospital.

So basically if you can do anything to rest or ease the pain eg. Bath, then I would be doing that. You'll need all the energy you can get later on.

Best of luck - oh and yes as others said call your midwife lol.

sounds like the start of it , have you got a birthing ball ? If you have get it out and get bouncing to get those contractions really going or take a good walk or if you want to stay at home walk up and down your stairs to loosen everything up and get those contractions really going x

Sounds like it could be start of labor. But just relax, go for a walk or read a book and watch if your contractions get more intensif. Good luck!

Sounds like braxton hicks but it could be the very early start of something. Just try and go for a big walk and get things going. I'm a week past my date and not even a twinge lol

How far along are you? If it is pretty early you may want to consider calling you midwife or doctor and see what they want you to do. If it's really early they may give you something or put you on bed rest to try and keep the baby in as long as possible.
