Home birth experience?

Question

This is my first child- I am low risk and planning an assisted home birth. They are not very common in my geographical area, but I feel a home birth would allow me to have the most natural, safest possible environment for my family. I would love to hear how you are preparing for your home birth and any other experiences with the process!!

Hey there, when I first made the choice I was a little scared. Mainly because of all the input we had at the time, from family and frieds. I was lucky the have a very supporting husband, though he was scared out of his mind. It's not nice hearing people tell you that you are going to kill your child bdcause, he decided to liste  to what his wife wanted. But our first home birth open the doors to something wonderful. It was the most empowering thing we had ever done. With our second one, we didn't eve  think twice. At first you'll feel a bit scaded, but once you talk go your midwife you'll feel better. Me and my 5 siblings were born and home so I grew up not really knowing any  different. However my husband had never heard of what a midwife is or a home birth being a option until he met me. When we found out we were expecting my husband was the first one to say anything and said "we're having a home birth right?". I am so blessed to have such a supportive and excited partner for a home birth! Honestly the though of a hospital birth scares me more than anything

i had a birth center birth with my first because i lived with my parents at the time. this time me and so have our own place so we are planning a homebirth! i already know that i am going to make birth affirmation flags to hang and i purchased an essential oil diffuser for the occasion lol. i want to have the lights off, curtains closed and line christmas lights around my living room and make an amazing labor playlist so i can have a relaxing space for laboring. i have a doula lined up and we are going to purchase the book 'hello baby' for our 2 year old since she will be present as well :) i am only 22 weeks but i am SO excited!

My original thought process was that we would use this awesome group of midwives in our area at a birthing center. My fiancé, who's an RN, startled me a little bit with his excitement for a home birth! Through discussions and the process of meeting the midwives, he's continued to impress me with how ready he is. It's rubbed off on me. I'm so confident now! I'm so excited. We have a tub reserved.

My first born (different father) was an awful 40 hour, pitocin/epidural, almost c-section. I'm really looking forward to this!

I had a home birth with my first and it was incredible. The whole pregnancy as I met with my midwife, she was nothing but supportive and kind and provided me with as much support as I needed, 24/7. Our experience was Amazing and we are having a home birth this time too, and really looking forward to it.

I have had two wonderful home birth experiences.  Very different labors, but I can't imagine laboring anywhere but where I feel most comfortable.  My family is from Holland where home birth is much more the norm and I am thankful to live in a community that's very supportive of home birth as a choice.

I'm doing hypnobirthing again. It really helped the first time. For my first I was going to go to a birthing center because of lack of home birth options. It was an hour away and when I went over there they said I wasn't dialated enough to be admitted. So I went home. And went into lala labor land all night long in a dark room while my husband slept. It was very peaceful. By sunrise it was too late. I was crowning. My husband woke up about an hour before this but didn't realize I was transitioning to pushing and we waited to call the midwives. They didn't believe I was pushing already and told us to come. My mother was prepared. Her care was all set up for me to give birth there. And I did, 5 minutes from my house I caught my son and went back home. They came to me. It was a great birth. Such a rush and They recommended a home birth next time. I was a little annoyed because they made me think that was not an option! So I found my homebirth midwife this time. If like to just stay in the house for the whole thing lol.

I'm 20 yrs old, 105 lbs, 4'11" and this is my first child. I'm so excited to have a home birth. I was more afraid and nervous thinking about giving birth in a hospital.
