Does your baby have to drop for you to go into labor ?

If not , will loosing your mucus plug be a sign ? Im 36 weeks and curious to know when my baby will come even though knowing is impossible

Both of my babies hardly dropped prior to me giving birth. I also never broke my water or lost the mucus plug so I would say it's hard to say. They may give you signs of labor but definitely you can go into labor without them.

I had a similar story to Kristy, water never broke and I have no idea what it is to lose a mucus plug, didn't even know ur supposed to! My baby did however def drop or "engage" as they call it, the day before I had him.had doc appointment on the Wednesday 2 weeks before due date, she thot baby would come late, the next day I could have sworn the baby was a lot lower...had him on Friday afternoon. In curious as to what water breaking feels like...might find out with this one
