What blood tests/ screening tests do you have with twins? I hear the NIPT tests don't work for twins.

I am over 35 so I qualify for the screening blood tests but I heard they are not accurate for twins.

I am doing the MaterniT21 test, it's a simple blood draw that looks for fetal DNA in your blood, the perinatalogist said it's very accurate for what it tests for (downs, and several other trisomies), but it doesn't test for everything yet (cvs or amnio is more comprehensive, but higher risk). of course if it comes out positive for something you wouldn't know which baby, and you would want to do a CVS or amnio to confirm and determine which baby is affected. For gender, it only checks for a Y chromosome so you will know either 2 girls or 1 boy and a mystery baby ;) results take 1-2 weeks. Apparently this is the best one to use for twins ;)

I decided to not have it done because of the high false readings. They did do the 20 weeks ultrasound to look for anything, and everything went well. I did the test with my daughter and had it come back positive or Down syndrome. Then the ultrasound said she was healthy. As much as I would love to know the possibility, I don't think I could handle false readings again. It was very stressful.
