To tell or not to tell??

Due in December....would you wait until your miscarraige chances are over or do you spill the beans now??

We are due in early December and we told our immediately family and close friends so they could pray with us that nothing goes wrong. We will probably wait until we hear a healthy heartbeat on the ultrasound to tell everyone else!

I told my friends and family right away, because I feel that regardless of if we lose this baby or not, nothing changes the fact that this baby existed. And heaven forbid I did lose this baby, I would want/need the support of my friends and family anyway.

I am waiting to tell until we confirm with the doctor. Once that is done we want to send everyone a cute picture announcing it. It's been hard since I talk to my mom everyday and want to tell her. But she will know in three weeks so it is all good. Though the morning sickness doesn't help me I hiding it from my work :-/

Due Dec. 2nd with our first child! My husband and I are 31yo and 33yo, respectively. We are waiting until June 14th (out of first trimester) when my parents and in-laws come to visit for my PhD graduation to tell. We want to tell them in person AND we want some time to ourselves to figure out what we want and need before involving others in the process. If it's anything like planning a wedding, as soon as we share the news we immediately start catering to everyone else's needs! We want this experience to be about our nuclear family first ;) Yes, it will be their first grandchild, but that's part of the reason to hold off! I don't want to be over (or under)whelmed by their excitement before I get my bearings. And if I do miscarry, it seems like the loss would feel worse if I had to disappoint them too with the news. Curious if anyone else is waiting to tell parents and close friends, and why (or why not)?

I'm due Dec 6th and we told our family and friends as soon as I'd confirmed over a number of days. I won't bring it up to my employer until the end of my first trimester if I can help it, but if we miscarry, I'm going to need support and comfort from my family and friends...

I would tell parents and close friends. Unfortunately I made the mistake and shared the news at 11 weeks, then miscarried 2 days later. Wait until you're out of the first trimester just to be safe.

I had a miscarriage last year and we didn't tell anyone until after the mc. I feel like if I'm going to tell my family I had a mc I might as well not wait until I'm in the clear. If you plan on keeping a mc to yourself, then maybe wait til your in the clear... we are going to get a viability us done on the 24th so we will probably fully announce after that but for now just close family knows.
