I was induced friday bc of placenta of my being calcified (it got old and wasn't working), low Fluid levels (bc of old placenta) and his growth was slowing down. 57 hours after I went in to the hospital theo was born! 7lb 8oz. I had cervadil, 4 rounds of mesoprostine and then moved on to pitocine. Labored naturally for 10 hrs then I got back labor without breaks between contractions for the last 3 hours and asked for epidural when I lost all my energy. (Holy crap are epidurals amazing!) . I was fully dialated after another 9 hrs but the babe was still -3 station. They broke my water and there was macconium in it plus the midwife felt that his head was tilted with out a way to turn because my pelvic bone protruded in the middle, making the area for his head very narrow and only capable of accommodating a properly positioned head. So they called it and I had a c-section. Since it was not an emergency I was able to do skin to skin in the OR. He was born and had to have his stomache suctioned bc he had swallowed macconium. After that he was able to come to my chest. He sucked his thumb at 20 minutes old! The nurses said they had never seen anything like!
