My husband is strictly of African American heritage and I have many heritages (literally everything under the sun). I appear to only have a European complexion (White). We live in a very "ghetto" area where it is very unusual and frowned upon for a "white" woman and a "black" man to be together. We've also experienced recently, the neighbors have been tagging our home, expressing their disapproval of our relationship. They've also been leaving dead animals in front of our home and leaving notes on our door to "get lost," and "You owe us white bitch" with a few death threats. Not only death threats to the both of us, but to any children we have. I guess my question is, why? I don't understand what it is about biracial couples that gets them to be so hateful. We're moving in June because of this. And even the law enforcement officer we talked to told us, "Move. Get out of this area. We don't see couples like you around here and we don't want to." Surely I reported the officer. His supervisor didn't do anything about it though. It's hard. I got upset enough that I cried until I made myself sick. It just baffles me that people are still like this.
