BBT confusion...can anyone relate?

Question

Ok so here's my chart this month. It's my first month temping. Is my BBT doing what it is suppose to do? I thought my temp should drop for my period and yesterday it did but today it spiked up again. AF was due today but actually started 3 days early which is very weird for me. Been TTC 7 months now. Only had one month where period was a day early. Just curious if my BBT is on the proper track...thanks.

If you're taking your temp at the same time each day (before moving around much in bed), I think it's okay if your temp is a bit all over during your period.  The key is that it is low for at least 6 days prior to a temp shift up (signifying ovulation) and staying above those 6 points until your next period.

I started temping at 6 months. This is my 7th month ttc. I got my bfp this week (it felt impossible!!). My temps have been ALL over and very loosely resemble anything like a "typical chart." Moral of the story: temps aren't accurate for a lot of people! While some people get those pretty little charts that look like a textbook, a lot of people don't and it's okay. My doc said that opks are much more reliable so as you get a positive on those and have a period, you are fine! I continued temping, but didn't put much stock in it and didn't worry about it looking "off". Hope this helps because I was in your EXACT boat when I first started temping. I'll post my temps from this month to show you.
