how do you clean cloth diapers?

Please excuse my ignorance, but how do you clean cloth diapers? I imagine you wouldn't just toss them in the wash without scraping out the poo first? Thanks! I'm considering whether I would want to do cloth.

If the baby isn't eating solids yet you can just throw them in the wash. Once they start eating solids, their poo becomes more solid, so at that point you put the poo in the toilet before washing. You can also get sprayers that hook up to the toilet for this purpose.

You can buy disposable liners for the cloth diapers for easy clean. You get a whole bunch for cheap.
