The hospital will send you home with diapers, formula, a pacifier and other goodies of that nature. So looking back, all we really should've taken was her going home outfit and maybe a couple pacifiers. Depending on the weather, a blanket and hat. Wipes and maybe a change of clothes in case it's a long drive home though I doubt anything needing a change of clothes would happen. They will sleep the whole way there. You'll need to bring more for yourself and partner. Pack enough for you and dad as if it were a weekend away from home. Toiletries, extra underwear and clothing for him. You'll be in a gown but will want to shower so toiletries for you and a loose comfy going home outfit for yourself with comfy shoes. Good luck!

And the hospital rooms are usually freezing with a fan or AC blasting so they get dry! Whenever I go to the hospital my eyes get so dry

The eye drops are a great idea! I would imagine your eyes would get so blood shot for all that strenuous work! And crying when you hold your baby for the first time. ;)

With my first I had no idea I was going to be having her that day so I didn't have a bag packed but all I needed was 4 outfits for her the hospital provided everything else. I wore the hospital gown the entire time we were there and toiletries to freshen up this time I will do the same just a little more toiletries but I'm wearing the hospital gown again no sense i ruining any of my clothes and I'll be having a csec so I don't want to have to pull pants on and off

All I really needed were toiletries and some comfy, baggy clothes I could feel ok in. The hospital provided so much for both me and baby including clothes, gowns, blankets, pads etc...What I found where the biggest lifesavers, were snacks, pillow and blanket for hubby, my own music, and just some comfort items for myself. Also, chargers for cellphones, cameras, anything that you want to keep yourself entertained, or your mind off the pain, lol!
