Has anyone been told they have a low lying placenta?? What did the dr. Say? Are you on restrictions??

Yes. 19 weeks it was low lying and no instructions. Rechecked at 22.5 weeks and it moved already.

Yes I'm stage 2 placenta previa which means it reaches the opening but doesn't cover it. But I haven't been told to do anything different yet. I got that news st the 20 week scan. They do another scan at 32 weeks to see if it moves. 90% do. I will have a scan prior to this as also sadly found out bun has a hole in its heart. Placenta previa (low lying placenta) can cause bleeds and premature births. They don't let you go natural either. But like I said we need to wait and see if it moves. Fingers crossed it does for us both. x

Yes pelvic rest for 4 weeks and recheck in 4 weeks and go from there.

My cousin gave me more information (she's a L&D nurse) to rest as much as possible and keep feet up to relieve pressure from the cervix

I'm being rechecked at 28 weeks to make sure it's moving up as the uterus expands. The doctor explained that the placenta is attached to the uterus, so as the uterus grows the placenta should move up. If it stays too close to the cervix, then the likelihood of C-section goes up because the risk of bleeding gets higher.

I have just been told at 20w that my placenta is nearly 2cm away from cervix which they used to consider as a need for a further scan to make sure it had moved but the guidelines have changed and ive been told it should move. .... :-/

At my 18 wk ultrasound mine was only 1.3cm away. Doctor said no restrictions for now, recheck at 30 weeks.
