I know I can go through his phone if I want to. Just like he can go through mine. But neither of us do that because we trust each other. You shouldn't feel a need to go through your SO's phone.

You shouldn't feel the need to do that. If you feel like he's hiding something, confront him. My bf and I don't lock our phones and know each other's passwords for other devices. We are 32, living together, trying to have a baby and planning to marry....so it sounds like we are in a different place than you guys, but again...talk to him!

It is not a good idea! You will torture yourself over every little thing. You are both entitled to your privacy. No matter how much you check and scrutinize if he/she is going to cheat they will find a way.

I think if you feel the need to then there's no trust there. With my ex (when I was17/18) I felt the need to check on a few occasions and always found something, he always talked himself out of it. However with my current bf who I've been with for 5 years I've never once felt the need to. The trust is there
