What to say when a friend comes out.

I have a feeling my friend is going to come out as bi or lesbian, I just don't want to say the wrong thing.

Be honest. Let them know that it doesn't change how you see them (if that's true) and that you're still there for them. Then, proceed as normal :)

You don't have to say anything. Just be like "ok. Glad you told me. What did you want for lunch?". They don't want to be babied or treated different, they just want to know they chose right by telling you -someone they hoped wouldn't see them any different.

Let them you right away-- no hesitation-- that you're okay with it. Then give them the chance to talk about it. If they are willing to tell you, don't just blow over it and change the subject. Let the conversation start with that and naturally change to somwthingn else.

I wouldn't make a big deal about it. When I cam out to my mom (not by choice, an ex texted her while we were at the hospital, about three minutes after watching my grandpa have a second heart attack) she was like, meh. We have bigger things to worry about obviously. It doesn't change who the person is, just who they love.

My friend came to me a few months ago saying she was bi curious. Honestly I didn't even flinch! I was so happy that she confided in me, that I was the only one who knew about it.

Support your friend in any way. Don't feel weird about, they probably already do!

Well when I came out to everybody they either hated me or they loved having a gay friend, support is great but don't go into full conversation. Just congratulate.
