What are my chances of having twins?

How big of a chance I might have twins? I was told it ran on my mothers side of the family. Is it  true it skip generations? My grandfather was a twin and my cousin just had twins. Does it mean I might? Who carries the gene the males or females?

Only the moms side matters so anyone on your moms side could factor in and every family is different so you never know. I have lots of twins in my family and my dr said its still not a higher chance than anyone else.

My friend had one baby then tried again after two years and had twin girls. She has no history of twins on her side. It was on her husbands side, where the twins came from. Hope this helps

It depends on the type of twins. Fraternal run in families. Identical don't. I'm a twin :)

Twins run on my grandfather's and my grandmother's side of my mother's family.  And my aunt just had twins and my great uncles are twins and there's several more. Idk if it skips a generation but my mom is convinced me or my sister will end up having twins.  I think it'd be pretty cool.  Exspecially fraternal twins !
