Spotting after sex?

Question

This is my first pregnancy so I know I'm asking dumb questions. But is it normal/common to spot a little after sex in the first trimester? I had some pink spotting/discharge last night and just want to check with you smart ladies before i freak out :)

I'm going to say it's not uncommon. I had some spotting last week after sex. I did a bunch of online research and reading in various "so you're having a baby" books. Everything seemed to indicate that spotting after sex is nothing to be alarmed about.

I asked my doctor at my first appointment today because this happened to me last week. She said it usually isn't an issue unless you're experiencing severe cramping along with it and you don't have to abstain. :) hope this helps!

I actually just had this happen to me yesterday as well.  It was only tinged pink when I wipes. Sorry tmi. I called my dr today and she said it's common after sex and vaginal ultrasounds. She said it can last up to a few days and as long as you are not in pain. She said if you experience severe abdominal cramping then go to the ER.  Thankfully the spotting has already stopped.  But I also
Experienced this a couple times in my first pregnancy in the first trimester.

I had the same thing happen yesterday as well and a little bit of pain. Not cramping though just from the sex. Wasn't too fun and freaked me out a little but everything I've read says its normal.

I had the same thing happen to me last Thursday and I only found out I'm pregnant yesterday (!) Am curious to see what others say as I don't see the doc until Friday...
