Should chewing tobacco be banned?

Even though many people and places have laws against smoking in restaurants and in public places (schools, restaurants, rest areas, etc.) There is very little laws against chewing tobacco other than basic tobacco laws. Should chewing tobacco have the same restrictions as smoking tobacco?

While I find it nauseating to watch, chewing tobacco doesn't really have secondhand impact like cigarettes, which is why cigarettes aren't allowed in most public places.

Think of it this way... many people also have a hard time seeing a woman breastfeeding in public (even when she covers) so should that be banned because it makes some people uncomfortable?  She and the baby aren't hurting anyone. Although I don't like chewing tobacco they aren't hurting anyone either...

I personally get sick watching someone chew tobacco and spit right in front of me, but I don't see any reason for it to be banned. Cigarettes aren't banned, cigars, e-cigs, vapors, or sheesha. So why chewing tobacco? It doesn't even have second hand affects so what's the point?

Yes it should have the same restrictions. It's still a tabacco product.

Why do you care what other people are doing with their mouths? If you don't use it, why are you trying to ban it? It doesn't affect you, keep your nose out!

No. I don't have a problem with chewing tobacco but I wish actual cigarettes were banned. Ask someone with asthma what they would do with healthly lungs, then reconsider ruining your own. Second hand smoke is a trigger for asthma attacks. Many people, myself included, can stop breathing with prolonged exposure to second hand smoke. It's not fair to put someone's life in danger because you need a pick me up. Keep it out of public places

I don't think so, person is choosing to chew and damage their own health, doesn't affect me in anyway, just a little grossed out.

Nope, it shouldn't be. The health risk is for them only. They should have the common sense and curtesy to not be spitting while other people are looking.

I have asthma. Being around someone smoking gives me asthma attacks. Someone chewing tobacco might gross me out but it has no direct affect on my wellbeing.

I don't know the laws and regulations for chewing, but honestly I've never seen or had any issues with people that do it. They're pretty discreet and respectful since I've never really seen anyone spitting anything anywhere.
