Should I go on birth control since I'm moving to South America to work in the jungle?

I'm moving to South America for 2 years and I'm not to sure if I should go on birth control since I'm going to be in the jungle and away from the city for long periods of time. I suffer from horrible cramps and I know that where I'm heading, plugging in a heating pad is not an option. So what should I do?

I would talk to my dr about long term reversible birth control like an IUD, nexplanin, or patches. Something easy. :)

They won't give you a 2-year supply...and the drugs we have might not be available in South America (I know, I got sick in Argentina and had no idea what they were giving me). You would most likely have to see a doctor in SA to get a prescription down there. I would tough out the cramps and take a bunch of Midol. If something were to go wrong with the iud, you would be so far from help that you could destroy chances of kids in the future.

Get the three month birth control or the something easier than the pill. Patch, shot, Nuva ring,etc

You might consider it. With birth control like the pill you are able to skip periods all together. You might need to figure out how the prescription will work tho

You can get an IUD or an implant. That's long term and from what my doctor told me, you don't need any checkups on it except your yearly exam like usual.

Maybe take your prescription with you... But first figure out if your cramps are as bad there as here. Moving so far can change everything!
