When do you tell your other child they are having a sibling?

I'm only 6w1d. I want to wait until I'm in the clear to tell my 5 year old daughter. But, I'm really exhausted and sick. Plus uncomfortable and bloated.... She knows something's up as I've had a few Drs appt for blood work and a early ultra sound. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

We told our kids as soon as we found out. We had tried for so long and they are 12 and 5. Both of them took it with excitement. We were pregnant with twins but one stopped developing. We told them that after our scan at 8 weeks. To us they have a right to grieve as well. It is part of life. Tell them when you feel like telling them. Kids are amazingly understanding. And empathetic.

Thanks everyone! We are going to disney world on Sunday, so once that excitement is over maybe we will tell her when we get back! We haven't even told her about Disney yet, mainly bc I didn't think I could hear the constant "when do we leave? Is disney today?" For months! I figure if I wait a little bit longer I wouldn't have to hear "where's the baby? Is the baby gonna be here tmro?" For that many months! It's her first sibling, so I want to tell her in a special way!

I just told my 4 year old daughter after the 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks! I came out so excited after hearing the heart! And as you say I have a sick stomach too and she was starting to be concerned so I explained it to her and she is kissing me and trying to take care of me! She melts me! I'm so proud of her!!!

My son is 6 and I told him when I told my husband at 4 weeks. It was super early and I kinda wanted to wait until longer, ideally after 1st trimester. I figured though that he doesn't really understand exactly how long 9 months is and if something happened and I miscarried, if I got pregnant again soon after he probably wouldn't even notice. He has been super excited and can't sit to meet the babies!!
