Dating a strep bacteria CARRIER?

Has anyone heard of this? I'm not finding a bunch of info online.

I've been w/my guy (and only him) since the beginning of December and I think I might have been infected w/strep throat...again. First time was in mid February. The difference between then and now is that the fire in my throat was only on a single side, not bilaterally AND I don't have a fever. 
If i keep getting strep infections, they're threatening to take my tonsils out. 😒

Are any ladies out there dating a strep carrier? Are you yourself a carrier? How did you find out? How did you keep from being (or getting) infected?

Any info is helpful.

I am a carrier of strep. I can't help it, I was born this way I guess. I have gotten my husband sick quite often, but the longer we are together the less he gets sick. It really started decreasing after a yr. He drinks an Emergen - C every day. It's a 1000 mg of vitamin C in a powder you mix in water. He likes the orange flavor best. It says mix it in 4-6oz of water...he takes it in maybe 3oz, that way it's more of a shot. Best of luck!

I had the same situation with my ex fiance for almost 8 months I got step throat like clock work to the point where the doctor wanted to take my tonsils out. I'm not sure if it was him or not but since we've broken up I haven't had it.

UPDATE: I went to my dr 5pm yesterday by the time I got there, my sore throat felt about 20% better than when I woke up. 
I tested negative w/a rapid strep test, which I also happened in February and December. The major difference here was the absence of white patches of puss on my tonsils.

After some discussion he suggested I could have been having an allergy attack (which I use to get every season as a kid but now it's down to once a year) and I should gargle and ibuprofen for pain but take antibiotics if I didn't see improvement.

He ALSO said that that strep carriers ARE a real phenomenon; they test positive w/a rapid test but don't have any symptoms.

Today my throat is even better and All I needed for comfort so far was 1 ibuprofen, hot tea and 1 Ricola lozenge.

I'm not sure how someone can be a carrier or not. I can understand how you can get strep and then have the antibodys for it and not able to get that particular strain of it. I've had strep numerous times. My little sister had her tonsils removed and it's not that big of a deal. She also had her adnoides removed because they were really swollen from the one time she got strep. You got strep big deal. It's not like it's the end of the world and sometimes having your tonsils removed gets rid of the issue. Some people are just more prone to certain things. I have asthma so I get bronchitis at minimum three times a year. I get upper respiratory infections every season change that require antibiotics. I will also once in a while get laryngitis from my asthma and a cold. Those are my most common illnesses during the year and that's all because of my asthma.

I used to test positive for strep every month for a couple years... Was on sooo many antibiotics. However, I also chewed my nails a lot. Once I stopped chewing my nails... I stopped getting sick. Coincidence or not I haven't had strep in 5 years but my doctor mentioned I might be a carrier

My grandma is a carrier and I had strep so often from staying with my grandparents that they took my tonsils out to make sure I didn't get it again

I'm a carrier. From what I've been told since the bacteria has formed to my body I cannot give it to anyone and I cannot get another strain from anyone. But I was little when I was told that so it may not be true. I've been with my boyfriend for 3b years and never given it to him or anyone I was around when I was in school or living at home.
