Any info on in-vitro?

Question

NOT ttc just curious, my partner and I have discussed children in the future. Does anyone have experience with the process of choosing a donor/implantation and about the price range? Or what are pricing factors? (Ie: donor bank vs someone we know, at office vs at home implantation/conception) Is anything covered by insurance usually?

Again, just out of curiosity.

My girlfriend and I are 22 weeks pregnant, and used ICI method over 5 months with a known donor. On the 6th month our donor was in the country so we used the ICI plus some DIY- and it worked.
Cost is a factor of course, but I'd suggest you should talk and agree with your girlfriend the kind of relationship and set up you want with your 'donor' first- do you want the father to be part of your lives etc. This is a decision that has implications for the rest of your lives- this is the most important part. And once you are both decided on this, this should drive how you do it. 
There are so many ways to have artificial insem, ICI, IUI and IVF, chat to your doctor. We are in The Netherlands so this was pretty much all covered with insurance. Goodluck!
