My doc says that because I am so healthy and baby is developing so well that we only get one ultrasound the entire pregnancy, which was at 18 weeks. I was a little disappointed because I was hoping for one more round of pics and checking-in with her development around month 7... (weeks 30-34ish). Is it worth it to save up for an elective ultrasound outside my doc office, or are there actual risks associated with these types of places that make it not worth it? Or timing-wise would the pics not even be that good and another month would be better? The pics I have from my first and so far only U/S are just not super great. They're either of her skull or a freaky distorted pic of her head/face and at 18 weeks her features didn't show up that clearly. Thoughts?
