My bundle of love joined us at 35 weeks. My water broke at 1030pm. I started contracting about 20 minutes later. She was born after about a totaly of 16 hours (half of which I had the epidural! Do it!) they had a nicu team in the room ready to take her away. There was no need! She was 6lns and 18 inches. I did skin to skin until the cord stopped pulsing. They took her to do a few vitals because that she is considered a premie. They have her back to me for about 10 minutes before they had to take her up to monitor her lungs and ability to breath. Hubby went with her while they stitched me up. I tore and needed two small stitches but they havnt bothered me yet. Little one had jaundice and has been on a flow bed for about 2 days (we hope she comes off soon and we can go home!) she also was showing signs of low blood sugar. We had to monitor it for 3 hours for about 35 hours. It sucked seeing her like that's. She has been in our bedroom the whole time. It's been a whirlwind as we were not prepared. No carrier in the car. No clothes or hospital bag ready. Can't wait to be home!
