Is it possible to read too far into your patriarchal blessing?

I feel like I'm always posting in this group and barely anyone else is 😝 but oh well! Lol
But it is possible to read too far into your patriarchal blessing?
Like for example, I'm not going to share too much because your not supposed to tell just anyone,
But my patriarchal blessing says I will be SEALED in the temple, not MARRIED in the temple. Does that mean I will marry someone who isn't LDS and get sealed in there later? I feel like that's reading too far into it though.
I mean sealed could mean getting married in the temple but sealed was just the word used instead of married.

I just want to know others opinions of its possible to read into it too much, if that makes sense.

To clarify, it says, "you will be sealed in the temple."
Just wanted to clarify that before people thought I meant it said "you will get sealed in the temple, not married." :p haha which it does not say that.

(Cont)Flash Forward to 2013- I was holding on to my bitterness toward my blessing. It was just too hard to read. Then, one Friday night I went on a blind date with a guy who had been married in the temple who was also now divorced. I was sure he was a psycho, 😜. But we connected on a level that I had never ever felt before- one that I thought could never exist, for me at least. We both knew pain, we both knew suffering- we both knew that the only way out of that pain and suffering was through living a gospel centered life and relying on the Savior's atonement. We fell in love! And I knew that I needed to read my blessing again. There was so much that I had forgotten- and as soon as I got to the dreaded part that mentioned marriage... I was floored. It was different than before!!! My pride had blinded me. It said "decide which of the various CHOICES will be right for you and your Heavenly Father will confirm your choice." What I'm really trying to say is, you can hang on the words of your PB all you want- they are your unique details and they are so very valuable. But don't dwell on things so much that it holds you back from living life and moving forward. Have a little faith! And who knows? Maybe the words will change as your heart changes 😃.

I think it is possible to read too far into your PB. But I don't mean that in a mean way at all! In my own experience, I've found that my blessing changes as I move forward in life. i.e., I was sealed to my first husband in 2010- my blessing encouraged me to make a choice regarding whom to marry and then take it to the Lord to have the decision confirmed. I followed the counsel and received a strong confirmation to move forward and marry this man for time and for all eternity. I was happy with my decision and I had no doubts whatsoever! About 4 mo. in the man I married decided that marriage just "wasn't for him." He realized a celestial marriage required more work than the dating game and ended up leaving me shortly thereafter.  He then moved back in with his single friends and filed for divorce. I was heartbroken. I was bitter. I was absolutely at my lowest of all lows- and I was so incredibly angry at the words of my PB. I didn't understand why this would happen to me?

I feel like it's totally possible to expect one thing from it but heavenly father has something different planned for when that blessing was given. I've noticed that mine comes true in many many ways but always at a different time in my life and when I read it it is like a light bulb comes on and it's like oh! That's what that means.

Mine also says sealed not married but my husband and I were married and sealed I. The temple. I find that at different time in my life I was sure that I knew what a blessing meant then later in my life I see the it was not what I thought. It's a guide to help you and at different stages in your life it will mean different things.

Well technically you can... I'm not saying that to offend you or anything but sometimes there is a difference between just your own thoughts/opinions and actual revelation/ what the plan is. It could be in the reverse of just because it doesn't say you will be married in the temple doesn't mean you won't have a temple marriage because sealed can mean both. Honestly the sealing is the most important part and the marriage part only comes as part of a piece of paper the sealer signs to say your married officially in the eyes of the world. Of course life can be crazy and I would just say plan for being married AND sealed and do your best to stay true to the Gospel and commandments and see how life plays out. You just asked for opinions so that is my personal opinion.

Dude I read to far into mine all the time. But my mom tells me that it’s just to be used as a guideline to see if your on the right track in life. And not everything will come to be in this life.

It is possible to read into it too much, but keep in mind that YOU have agency! Perhaps the patriarch was inspired to say it in such a way to give you time to think about what your goals truly are.

Mine says to "make it a goal to be married in the temple"... The blessings later implies that I would be (as my kids would be sealed to me), but there was a time when I was dating a non member and had thought that maybe the goal was just to keep me positive and faithful until he converted. He did eventually get baptized and became an ordained priesthood holder, but in the mean time I broke up with him and dated and married a wonderful man who fulfills my blessing in every way. We were sealed in the temple.

I would just tell you that I cannot imagine a happier, better thing than being sealed to my sweetheart. I would encourage you to be as faithful as possible to be worthy of that amazing blessing. Remember that you have your agency to choose whether to marry someone worthy of those same blessings. Follow the promptings of the spirit! Good luck!

It could be either. Its just terminology that was used. Married does mean sealed :-)
