Being induced ? Please read and help!

So today I'm 40 weeks and 1 day, I went to my docs today, they told me I'm being induced on Tuesday, I will be 41 and 1 day, if she doesn't come out before that on her own. For some reason I always was against being induced, and I don't even know what happens. Who was induced and what was your experience like ?? I'm really scared of it and I really have no clue why.

Hey aleksandra. I was kinda like you where I was against induction and wanted my body to go into labor when it was ready. That being said, the des were worried that my baby wasn't getting  enough nutritious and didn't want me to go past met due date. So they ended up inducing me at 40+1. I was induced about 10pm with a foley ca catheter (mechanical dilater) which felt out before I fell asleep so that meant it got me to 3cm. Anyway the next morning I had minor contractions on my own then they started the pitocin. The contractions were strong and I found that a warm bath helped me relax and let the contractions do the work. They did let me try backing off the pitocin after the labor got started and said that as long as my labor continued they could keep it off (my body kept progressing so they did not have to restart the pitocin).  
I do want to share with you that I think one of the important parts of labor is your outlook ahead of time. It's helpful to not be fearful. Acknowledge that it won't be easy and there will be pain, but try to not be afraid of the pain. Best of luck to you!!

Read up! You do not need to be induced before 42 weeks unless there is a serious medical problem your doctor is seeing.

I was induced at 39 weeks because dr thought baby will be big!!he was 8lbs😊!!
And I can't complain!!everything went so smooth!! But everybody is different!!!

With my first they tried to induce me with a Foley Bulb (inserted in the cervix and expanded) and followed that with pitocin. Was in pain for 32 hours before labor even started. 
With 2nd just pitocin but I was almost 4cm when I went in, that was a breeze and no pain.
3rd was c-section because he was 11lbs 7oz. We're just not going to go there....

Here is some hope. I went in with my first the same as you. I was at 40 weeks with no change in my cervix. The day that the doctor set my induction (for 5 days later), I went into labor that night and delivered my son the next night. However, I still needed pitocin to get my cervix dialated quicker :) Your baby may still come before, but if not, you will be just fine :)

My best friend got induced at 39 weeks idk why but it went wonderful for her she had him vaginally, she was healthy and he was to.

My experience was long the contractions did hurt more than my natural ones so I got an epidural it helped me some but if you can practice breathing techniques it helps I was told by nurses to breathe through it wish I would have known from the beginning think it would have helped me more. I'm sorry I can't help as I'm only 22w2d with #1 but just try to stay positive and think of it as a little hurdle to jump to see your gorgeous baby :-) the docs do this all the time and they know what they are doing. Good luck to you xxx

I was induced and it all went fine my birth was really fast but the Pitocin made me swell a lot. I'm hoping to not be induced this time. I've learned that it can cause the baby to be stressed leading to other problems and possibly a c-section. 
This time I'm going to try pumping if I need to be induced. If the baby is ready it can work. 15 mins on 15 mins off for several hrs, I'm not sure how long but it has worked for some Women. There are also other natural things you can try.
