I don't think it's old fashioned. I was taught to wait growing up but I didn't wait and had multiple partners before my now husband as did my husband. I don't think it "damaged" us for one another but at the end of the day a part me wishes I was the only one and he's admitted the same to me. I would encourage anyone to wait. People talk about sexual compatability but I think sex is something a couple works at, learning each other's likes and dislikes. Sex wasn't super awesome at first with my husband but over the years we've learned each other's preferences and now we can't get enough of each other and it's incredible. I encourage anyone with hesitation to wait!

I think it's very old-fashioned. It's a legacy of the view that sex is a commodity, something that should be offered by a woman/taken by a man. It feeds into so many toxic attitudes about sex and intimacy than I can count.

I prefer the view that sex is an activity that two people can do together, like dancing. It's something that you can do over and over again and it doesn't run out, and there isn't any limit after which you become a different person. All that happens is you get better at it through practice.

I think it's odd, unless the couple really don't care if they're sexually compatible or not. Cuz I've slept with a few guys who just didn't click with me like that. It sucked in the worse way .___. I'd hate to marry a guy and find that out about our sex life.

Yeah. That wasn't for me. I mean, if other people want to wait, that's fine. But I feel sexual compatibility is extremely important to a long-lasting, happy marriage.

Good sex can be learned, love can't always. Plus, sex doesn't always last.  What if you married someone you had a good time with in bed, but didn't love as much as the other guy who was only so so in bed, and something happened to one of you that prevented sex ever again. Wouldn't you rather your marriage be based on love?  I waiting til marriage, and I don't regret it at all. Our sex life started out rocky because we were both new to it, but we practiced and learned. I'm glad I had a deep love as a foundation

Sure, a lot of people think the Bible is outdated and living by its morals are old-fashioned. My husband and I don't, and we are so glad we waiting until our wedding night to enjoy the physical aspect of our relationship. Waiting isn't always easy, but if you really want to wait until marriage, it is definitely worth it!

My husband and I did not have sex with each other before we were married.... We're the first couple times awkward, YES! But we learned what each other liked, and now we have great sex! For us it was a biblical thing, but I feel it made us connect on a deeper level when dating.

There was no way in hell I was going to wait. I don't hold it against those who do, more power to them, provided they don't judge anyone without a hymen as being worth less than they are. Sexual compatability was and is a big deal to me, I don't regret sleeping and living with my husband for 6 years before we married one bit. I'd do it all over again if given the chance, we had lots of fun.

It isn't for me. I think it puts too much value on purity and too much pressure about sex.
