Mucus plug?

What does it look like when you lose it? Can you lose bits and pieces of it?! I wanna know what to expect and when to expect it. I'm 30 weeks! I think she is gonna come early due to me measuring 3 weeks ahead & just because it's a feeling I've got. Lol

Yeah it looks like a huge snot booger and it's actually not always common to notice you've lost it. I lost mine at 24 weeks and it regrew and I noticed I lost it again at 36 weeks with my daughter and didn't have her until 41 weeks. It does not mean labor is coming. Always call the doctor though if it happens mind said if it's before 36 weeks (different Drs measure things different). I also never trust the sizing thing lol my daughter was "supposed" to be 10lbs. Came out 8.5

Oh and just because baby measures big doesn't really mean early delivery. This is my 3rd and I've been told every time that babies weight in utero can be off by 1 pound either way. So if they tell you 4 pounds baby could be 3 or 5. They told me my 2nd was 6.14 the day before delivery and he was 5.6 the next day. I'm measuring 2-3 weeks ahead as well belly uterus wise as well which is normal.

It honestly looks like boogers haha. It's stringy and resembles what you blow out into a tissue when your sick. It can have touches of red blood in it, it can be yellow, slightly brown which is old dried blood, or just clear. I've been losing small pieces the last 2 days and I'm 31w2d. Having sex can loosen it up a little, when your cervix begins to thin out and dialate it comes out. I've read it can build back up, and that it doesn't always mean labor is coming soon, but for some it does mean labor is around the corner. If you do lose a huge chunk of it and there's blood in it And your before 37 weeks I would definitely call the doctor and have him check you. Because supposedly when you lose it there's no real protection between your vagina cavity and the baby anymore. That's what it's for to protect baby from infection. So it's good to get checked, and I've read no more baths when you begin losing it either. Risks infection as well.
