Opinions of Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula?

Question

Hello,  I'm now in my second trimester I do believe (13 weeks) and I just had my husband buy me some Palmers, it says it takes away stretch marks, but also prevents them.  I don't have any stretch marks yet, but would like to prevent as much as I could. Any body have opinions about it,  as much as did it actually work for you? Is it worth to buy again?

It's moisturizing but so are lots of other body butters. It won't prevent stretch marks but it will keep your skin hydrated and not as itchy. The smell bothers me.

I found the best stuff! It's called Mother's Special Blend, I bought it at Whole Foods. It's a skin toning oil that has a neutral, light, nice smell. It's made with almond oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, and vitamin E. It's all natural no chemicals, no preservatives, no artificial colors, and no perfumes. It's healthy for both you and the baby. It's great to use before and after baby. My friend used it on to pregnancies and did not get one stretch Mark, it's awesome! Good luck!

If you're going to have them, you really can't totally stop them but I loved the smell of this and how soft it made my skin feel. I did get minimal stretch marks compared to some people but I don't know if that's just genes or putting this stuff on every morning. Either way, trying is better than doing nothing and this stuff is good for your skin either way (I live in a dry climate so it was especially nice.).

There aren't products that have been proven to prevent stretch marks, unfortunately. They are genetic so if you're meant to get them you're going to get them. Stay super hydrated, maintain a slow healthy weight gain to prevent your belly from blowing up in a short amount of time which can cause bad stretch marks, and keep your skin moisturized. What you use doesn't really matter :)

Never worked for me and I was religious about using it. I still ended up with stretch marks on my boobs and hips wrapping around to my butt and only thing that helped me was bio oil. I'm using it now on my eczema and old stretch marks and on scars. Works very well for burn scars. Had a brown BBQ burn scar that I used it on and it faded to normal skin tone and didn't get the weird texture of burnt skin.

Used this with my first and didn't get any stretch marks on my stomach..that's the inly place I applied it though so I have some on my boobs and a few on my thighs nothing noticeable though

I have that stuff (I'm 28 weeks) and I love everything about it. The smell, the texture, the non-greasiness of it. And I don't have any stretch marks... yet. BUT, no lotion/oil is going to prevent stretch marks because they're mostly genetic. It will help relieve itchiness and dryness but itching and dryness don't cause stretch marks, it's the breaking down of collagen under the skin and no topical thing can completely stop that. Sorry 😐

I blend together Shea butter, glycerine & almond (or olive) oil. I'm 38+ weeks now and no stretch marks so far. Also helped a lot with itchiness.

I know the general concensus is that creams don't prevent stretch marks, but I strongly believe this mix helped keep my skin supple which allowed it to stretch more easily.

Also remember to apply your cream to your breasts, hips & upper thighs as well - all potential danger zones for stretch marks! All the best! 😊
