gDiapers Cloth/Disposable Hybrid?

Question

When I think about the gdiapers I think they are a hybrid between a cloth and disposable diaper since the outer shell is cloth and you can use disposable liners. Has anyone used these and what is your review of them?

We used these for our son when he was an infant, but only because he wasnt big enough for the bumgenius diapers we had already bought. The gDiapers work, but you have to change the cloth pad often, otherwise you get leaks outside of the plastic liner easily. I always kept 2 extra plastic liners in my bag, just in case we had a poopy mess 😉, 2 extra cloth outer diapers, & 6 cloth liners in my diaper bag and that would last me the day at work (b/c he went with me). I mainly used the disposable inserts at night, but they def worked ALOT better than the cloth inserts because they didnt shift around as much.

To be honest though, once he was big enough to fit in the Bumgenius diapers we orinally bought, it was so much easier. There were a lot of leaks with the GDiapers, which I attribute to the plastic inner liner.  The Bumgenius is a big investment in the beginning, but they last and work much better. We had the 4.0 All-in-One, the kind that you inserted a cloth liner in between the outer diaper shell and inner cloth liner. They grow w/your child so you dont have to buy anymore. I prefer the velcro ones as well, b/c you can get a better fit than the button closer kind. We still have both diaper brands in storage, but I think this time with my 2nd baby we will spend the extra money for the newborn sized BumGenius diapers. I'll probably only buy a few at a time though, since they are expensive.

Gdiapers uses either disposable or cloth inserts. That's one of the diapers I'm planning on using. I also plan on using grovia. You should check out their websites and youtube for reviews.

I haven't used these, but have been doing a lot of research on cloth diapering. I haven't read the greatest reviews for gdiapers. I've read many more positive reviews for Flips and Grovia which are hybrids.
