Help!!!

I just got diagnosed with herpes type 1(the "good" one where a person only gets sores in the mouth sometimes) anyways I got it from a guy that I have had sex with twice but no oral. I don't have the results back from my test yet but my doctor thinks that's what I have. I guess you can get it from kissing someone. The guy said he has never had any symptoms but my doc said he could be just a carrier. I'm wondering if anyone else has it and how bad are your outbreaks and how often? Thanks
