Should Parents let others know if their kids are sick?

Been having issues lately with my child getting very sick from mild illnesses from other friends' children. I usually brush things off easily, but this is the 5th time since Jan (from the same family)! And my kid (1 yr old) has a poor immune system. :(

Yes, of course. It's pretty selfish to knowingly expose your sick child to someone else's child and not care.

Im a teacher, parents send their kids into school sick all the time, this makes the adults working there sick and the other kids in class. They should be kept home until they are better especially if vomit or diarrhea is involved!

If your kids gonna be any where near them you should know. My friends use to tell me their kids where sick before i came over incase i didnt want to come over. Its common decentct

It's common decency to warn others and/or stay away if your kids are sick. It really irritates me when people are inconsiderate about such things.

I worked in the infant room at a daycare for a couple years (ages 6 weeks to one year) and it amazed me how often parents would bring their sick babies in. I get that it can be difficult to find a babysitter during the day but after three days of high fevers and diarrhea, it's time to figure it out! The baby is MISERABLE and needs rest and quiet, not 8 hours of social interaction.

At the first sign of illness, everyone should stay home. It's selfish and irresponsible to go to work or school.

Definitely.  I always let people know if my son is sick before I let anyone come around him. After they know, it's their call to come around or not, but I always warn them!

YES!! My two year old is now sick again the the 3rd time with in a month.  I babysit for most of my family and two of them came over with a cough, we just got over bronchitis barely a week ago , and now my son has had a  cough back for the past 2 days ( going to the doctor Tommorow)  I try to tell everyone we come in contact with (but sometimes I do forget because he's been sick so  often lately:(  .. My so also works at a nursing home where residents are almost always sick, and has brought home a few colds etc. too :(

When I babysat my bestfriends baby I never took her out around people if she was under the weather. My mom tried to bring my cousins over a few times but one time Ashtynn was sick and another time my cousin was sick. Personally if your kid isn't feeling well keep them home!!!

Even if my kid has a running nose from sneezing, I keep her away from other children. I just keep her home. I don't know what she could potentially have, and don't want to risk other kids becoming miserable and sick. If someone needs to stop by while she has a sniffle, or is being miserable, I tell them to enter at their own risk. Why would anyone not inform others? Everyone I know does the same thing I do.
