Formula?

Question

How much formula would a new baby go through per week? I'm planning on breast feeding/expressing but this is just a back up plan for formula. Thanks!

Every two to three hours giving a bottle that may be 4 ounces. I used a large container a week starting at 3 months

My doctor told me to expect to spend $3000 the first year on formula (if your baby has no allergies etc). Not sure if that's why you are asking :). For my first baby I was able to breastfeed exclusively for 4 months and wound up having to switch him to a very expensive formula for medical reasons. I'm still giving my 2nd breastmilk and just started supplementing when he turned 9 months. If you do decide to breastfeed, and won't be nursing exclusively, definitely freeze as much milk as you can. It will help your pockets and your baby!
