Who should I send out birth announcements to?

I was wandering if I should send one to everyone that came to my shower or just close family and friends. I'm thinking everyone that came to my shower should get one. My baby girl will be here in less than 3 weeks!

With my first we sent one to the same people who attended our wedding & Christmas card list combined. We will probably do the same again. I will say that we hand-delivered a good chunk of them to people who came to See us and the baby in those first couple of months. It really cut down on the mailing cost.
