Do IUD's help with PCOS symptoms?

I was told I have PCOS at the age of 11, for the past 10 years I've tried numerous things to help combat the symptoms, multiple oral contraceptives, home remedies, exercise, diet change, just dealing with it, nothing has helped. Today my doctor recommended I try out Mirena. She gave me a lot of information about it, and I've been talking to my SO about it since.
We have been trying to conceive for about a year now, and have lost two babies. I can't seem to get pregnant and stay pregnant... And it's heartbreaking. Each time my period is late I get this hope that maybe this will be the time, but then the BFN shows up, or AF comes and I go back to feeling as though it will never happen for me.
Is it time for me to give up and get an IUD? Will it even help? Will it make it harder for me to get pregnant when I decide to have it taken out?

I had the mirena for 3 1/2 years as a treatment for Endometriosis. I've been ttc for 14 months now. The lack of periods was wonderful on it. And after the first 6 months passed (lots of cysts for me!) I loved it!!

It's unpleasant to have put in and removed, but not unbearable. Only you and your husband can decide if it's time to stop ttc.... Or even just put a hold on it. I've never heard of the mirena being used for pcos, but it doesn't surprise me. Best of luck to you dear!!
