Doppler?

I've heard from pretty negative things about using a Doppler at home to hear baby's heart beat. What's everyone's opinions? I really want to get one, but am unsure.

I got a Doppler due to my anxiety problem. My doctor told me it was perfectly fine and actually suggested it. Just don't use it 24/7.

My friend let me borrow her sonoline b and I love it! I'm 11 weeks, after watching a few YouTube videos the hb has been easy for me to find.

My friend told me not to freak out if I couldn't find the hb, just to try again later or the next day.

As long as you're not the type to freak if you sometimes can't find the heartbeat, they're fine!

My baby doesn't like the Doppler, he kicks it and actively tries to move away!

I bought one on eBay for $45. It was very comforting before I could feel him moving. I could listen to his heartbeat whenever I wanted to reassure me he was okay.

It's probably harmless as long as you don't overdo it. I used one once or twice a week from 11-15 ish weeks when I started feeling movement.

Today my ultrasound tech said not to use it too much. They don't really know the affect of Doppler waves. We will probably try to find the heartbeat for about ten minutes once a week.

I use mine every now and then to to check heartbeat.I can feel her but listen to it once a week to make sure her heartbeat is where it should be number wise.This won't do any damage...once I get reading and hb I take it off.You'll get use to finding baby in seconds and literally whole thing takes less than a min.I use a sonoline B from fetaldoppler.net and love it! Made me at ease till she started moving! :)

I love mine . I hear it everytime I go looking for the heartbeat, sometimes it takes a couple minutes because my son is sitting funny but I am definitely impressed with it, keeping it for my next as well :)

After a miscarriage, it makes me feel so much better, even if it's there for a second and you can hear it trying to get away! I didn't do it until about 16 weeks because I felt that was safer waiting but we can normally get it straight away. :-) Once I have heard it though that's it, so no more than 20 seconds for once or twice a week because I'm scared of doing it more frequently than that.
