How does child support work?
My boyfriend and I have a 3 month old baby. He pays for everything involving me and the baby. He fully supports us all. Mind you, I'm a stay at home mom.
Thing is, I'm getting calls from child support wanting me to put him on it. Only because I received medical government assistance during my pregnancy and the government wants their money back.
Since we're not married they are basically making me put him on child support.
But how does it work?
For example, does he have to pay, say, $400 and I get $200 because he's paying back the government?
We're planning on getting married anyway but we're waiting a little more to be able to afford a nice wedding party and stuff, I didn't want to get married in a rush like this.
