Not allowed menstrual cups?

Im 17 and live with my dad and he won't let me get a menstrual cup.
How can I convince him its a good idea?
Also are soft tampons good?

Just out of curiosity, why does it matter to your dad how you manage your period?

Can you not just order one online and get it delivered to a friend? Come on be sneaky.

-They're cheaper (long-run)
-Soooooo much better for the environment
-Healthier for you

Remind him of these facts, plus the fact that he can start giving you advise on how to manage your period after he starts menstruating or becomes a gynecologist. 
At 17, it's important to start taking control of your own body :)
