How to you break up with your BFF?

My best friend for 14 years is turning into someone I can't stand she is so cold and rude to people. I guess I never seen it before or I just looked passed it.  I've been not hanging out with her or I just don't answer when she calls. This last weekend I was out at a bar and she was there and started freaking out crying how I'm ignoring her. Truth is I am I just don't like to be around a rude person, I've told her and she just won't get it she thinks since we been friends forever that I'll always be her friend. I don't want to hurt her I feel like we just grew apart and arnt into the same things. It's so weird I feel like I'm breaking up with a boyfriend or something! Help what should I do?

If she is your best friend just be honest and tell her how you feel!

I wouldn't quit being her friend. Just tell her how you feel and allow her to figure out what she wants to do about it. I mean you'd still be her friend she was the same person you knew right? So let her decide what to do about her attitude. Punishing your friends never works and that is what your doing at the moment wether you realize it or not. :/

If shes a real  friend you should be able to sit her down and tell her about her self, then if she still doesn't change just be her friend from a distance just talk to her whenever.  Check on her here and there. Good luck! 🍀

We are just now getting back to the way it used to be, but I honestly believe it will never be the same. We met when we were 10 so of course we have grown a lot and have made choices the other one didn't agree with. I still love her and would kill for her though

My BFF of 7 years just completely changed one day. She shaved her head, start acting like a guy, changed all of her friends and personality. Then one day on her new "guy" Facebook she basically bashed me. So we completely stopped talking for about 3 years now! I miss her like crazy especially now that I'm trying to conceive and my life is in a direction we always thought we would go to together. We were programmed the same way, thought the same way, people always thought we were sisters and we pretty much were. I'm reaching out to her a little bit on snapchat. I wish we never would have broken up :( I really need my BFF BACK :(

I had a friend like this. We were best friends in high school and about a year or so after we graduated. She had/has a long term bf who she continually cheated on. Anyway, it was like the only thing she talked about were all the different guys she was with. She carried on relationships with two or more at a time, while still living with her bf. He didn't know, he would leave her if he did. I finally had it when she had brought one of her new flings over to meet me. I didn't give her any explanation (harsh much?) I just didn't answer her calls/texts. I haven't spoken to her in a couple years now. It was a draining and one sided relationship. Sometimes you have to look out for yourself and if you feel tired and its too much for you then you have every right to end a friendship that doesn't make you feel good.

My "best" friend for 20 years and I got distant once high school started. Hanging out with different crowds. Long story short, she went away to college and I always asked to spend time with her whenever she was home since I went to college only 20 mins from home. She would come home for breaks but never contact me. Found out she was hanging with other people. Needless to say, I tried. I even had her in my wedding as a bridesmaid which she was no help in. She ignored me barely hung out but was still in my wedding. Finally after the wedding was over I gave up. She hadn't talked to me for months. When my grandmother passed, she texted me saying if I need anything she was there for me. That pissed me off because she was never there for me so why would she be now. I went off on her. It got bad to the point where we both said we regretted her being in my wedding. I now understand she was never a true friend and I've accepted at I've lost someone who was once dear to me. But at least I can say I tried.
