Are long distance relationships worth it?

I live in the Bronx and the guy I like lives in NJ . That's only 3 hours away, but even planning on going over there like at times by MYSELF kind of scares me😕. He said he has tried long distance before and it never worked, but I want him to give me a try. So my question is, is it worth it, and how can I make it work?

Me & my fiancé are in a long distance relationship. I only see him 14 days a month. He has his own house & lives 5 1/2 hours away from me. He comes down on his off days & I don't even look at it as a long distance relationship anymore. I just look at it as I get a break from him for a few days 😂 & get to finally relax... Sometimes it's nice to have a little alone time. But it will be hard at first but if you truly love that person.. You would do anything to be with that person.

I think it depends on the situation. If you both love each other and are willing to put in the effort long distance relationships require then I believe they can work. 
3 hours might seem far, and unless y'alls schedules are completely booked, you could still potentially visit on weekends, especially if you one or both have cars/transportation.
My ex broke up with me after he was stationed on the other side of the U.S., but I honestly think it would've worked if he was 3 hours away. 
When you're long distance even the smallest amount of time with your SO can mean the world.
