Menstrual-like cramps?

Hi- I'm 22 weeks pregnant and have been having menstral-like cramps for the past two hours. At what point should I be getting worried? When I call my midwife, it wants to direct me to the emergency hotline but I'm hesitant to call this an emergency.

Are they consistent or has it been occasional within the 2 hours. I would go ahead and call emergency line just in case

I had this experience starting Friday. I called the doctor and they just suggested rest, increase water, Tylenol and heat/ice. I was a little perturbed by that because I wasn't calling seeking relief from the pain - I could handle it - but because it seemed alarming. They said if I could time the cramps to call back.

Well, of course through the power of suggestion, I was convinced I was contracting every few minutes. I know I overreact, so I hesitated to call it an emergency, just like you. I told myself if it wasn't better by Sunday morning i would call again.

It stopped. But I am still anxious that it was something more than the stretching and muscles moving that I have gotten used to. I have my 20 week scan this Friday and a regular visit the following Monday, so I'm going to try and calm myself until then. It's hard to know when you should be concerned or not. I don't want to be the boy who cried wolf.

I had period-like cramps and it turns out I had a cervical yeast infection (up at the cervix so no discharge). The cream suppositories cleared it up (category A medication). But I would start by drinking lots of water because dehydration can cause period-like cramping too. Bottom line: if no bleeding or blood tinged discharge and movement is good, most likely it's not an emergency.

I had that this weekend and went to the er and they turned out to be contractions. So I would go get it checked
