A recent article has shown that "basic family goods" i.e. little things like reading to your child before bed, having a two parent male female relationship, and sending children to elitist private schools has been setting children up to fail when they can't obtain those and letting children who's parents are privileged enough succeed and oppress those that couldn't obtain these. As said by Swift (a philosopher in the UK and human rights activist) " One way philosophers might think about solving the social justice problem would be by simply abolishing the family. If the family is this source of unfairness in society then it looks plausible to think that if we abolished the family there would be a more level playing field." He has also stated from conducting a study that " The evidence shows that the difference between those who get bedtime stories and those who don’t—the difference in their life chances—is bigger than the difference between those who get elite private schooling and those that don’t.". So should we ban homeschooling and reading to children before bed to equal the playing field so that all children get the same advantages as other?
