Unemployment or disability?

Currently, I am working part time but After I give birth I do not plan to work because of help reasons so I am not disabled, but does that mean I have to file unemployment or do I not have to do any at all? Because I rather not apply for either

If you choose not to go back to work you should not qualify for unemployment.

Pregnancy is considered a disability for short term disability insurance. Unemployment requires you to be activity looking for a job btw.

I know in my state in order to apply for unemployment you have to be able to work and actively seeking employment. I'm not sure if it's the same everywhere. And probably no disability as you aren't technically disabled either...

If you do not quit before you have the baby you will be considered disabled due to pregnancy and will get paid disability because you are suffering a a wage loss because of it. You get 4 weeks before and 6 weeks after 8 for c sec.

Can someone tell me how this works for someone high risk? I am off of work till the mid 2nd trimester and even then he said he rather I not do the job I'm doing as I usually loose the baby and he said I also could be at risk. We have lost 4 already so this time I actually am off but they said std will end in July and when I have the baby I won't be able to take off . What can I do if anything?

I should also mention that if you're unable to return to work due to disability you will transition to LTD. But if you quit while on leave, you'll typically lose your benefits.

I work in employee benefits and it depends on your state of residence. Also check with your company HRS department to see if they offer anything. Typically, if you stay employed you will receive STD benefits from having a baby. Your state might pay you a stipend on top of that depending on where you live. Check with your HR and also check out your rights at the dol.gov site.
