Feeding when out?

Question

How do you ladies feed baby when out? I went out yesterday for first time since having baby (she 14 days old today) and I ended up having to breastfeed sat on a toilet in a stinky cubicle for 35 mins and I felt so crap, the food I ordered came in that time and went freezing and had to be packed up and missed all the fun of being out with family because I was say in the toilets with a door that didn't even shut so I could even sit down after 15 mins because everyone kept opening the door and nearly whacking baby head (was tiny cubicle). I'm thinking of expressing and freezing it twice a day so I have a supply available for going out and then giving in bottle but don't wanna cause any confusion now she fully on breast (was expressing at first she wouldn't latch). Not confident enough yet to use a cover because still need two hands to feed lol

Don't breastfeed in a bathroom!! You have EVERY right to breastfeed in public, wherever you are! If you're uncomfortable use a cover, but you should not have to sit in a bathroom to feed your child. I breastfeed in public every time, I sometimes use a cover but I usually don't. It is your right & if anyone says anything to you, they can get over it, you're feeding your child.

Breastfeed at the table and use a cover. You were with family so someone could help you cover up while you hold the baby. Or breastfeed without a cover whatever works for you and baby. None of the other patrons are expected to eat in the restroom so you shouldn't feel obligated to feed your baby in the restroom either.

I suggest getting a good cover, one with plenty of fabric to cover both of you moving around and using two hands, and with a little hood so that you can peak at baby without pulling away anything.

I echo the other ladies--feed at the table, and I use a cover. I'm getting better at eating with my left hand when I'm feeding from the right side--I'll be ambidextrous before this is all over! 👐

In the beginning when I needed both hands.. I would latch on the bathroom and then walk out holding him. Try expressed milk for outings if it would help you out.
