Single Artery Umbilical Cord?

Question

Yesterday during my second anatomy scan (because our baby boy would not cooperate during the first) they saw that the umbilical cord has only one artery instead of two. Now we are being referred to a specialist and I am so worried now that something maybe wrong or something is going to happen. Is anyone else going through this???

I'm glad to hear that they were healthy babies!! I never heard of it until yesterday and I don't want to make the mistake and Google it.

My niece and nephew were both considered high risk pregnancies for the same reason. They were both carried to term and are happy and healthy kids right now :). Don't know much beyond that, but don't panic yet. I hope your story will be the same!!
