Could it be too early?

I go for my first ultra sound on Friday, I'll be 14 + 5, and I was wondering if it'd be possible to see the gender. Granted baby is in the right position and all the tech is working well. Even if it wasn't a definite, could they still be able to make out what looks like a penis vs it just being "blank" down there?

Yes! We found out at 14 weeks 1 day and it was very clear that she was a she.

It is based on degree angle. Boys parts are 30° higher than female parts. A girls clitoris and labia are still fairly large and can be confused for a penis and testicles. The angle is your best pet. Boys tend to float straight up!

Yes, it's a possibility! Small chance though. Every baby the sex organs start on the outside. So there may be a chance that it's a girl but the sex organs haven't moved in yet. If it looks like a girl though, it probably is. Most techs won't even make a guess that early though... Too afraid of being wrong.
