Pregnant w/baby #2 and have low Iron. Any other mommies having Iron deficiency with their pregnancy?

Any high iron foods recommendations? I tried Hemax which is prescription strength Iron pills and i can't swallow it without wanting to throw up.

I can't take iron pills unfortunately but I'm extremely anemic.  They keep track of my iron each visit but I've always been extremely anemic...

The health food store has a liquid iron supplement called floradix for pregnancy. Get that instead. You won't vomit it out every time. It tastes gross but its better than the pills and won't cause constipation.

Dark greens like Kale and Spinach are high in iron, as well as Beans, Red meats, dried fruits like raisins and apricots....also vitamin C aids in iron absorption so make sure you're getting plenty of that as well.

Just found out last week so I have to get iron pills. I was anemic during my first pregnancy too.

I just found out I'm anemic with this pregnancy which is my second one. I take iron pills in addition to my prenatals. I also try to eat more dark greens which hasn't really been a problem as I've been craving for salad lately. Take with your doctor and see what else they suggest you can do.

I believe I took a supplement called Slow Fe that was gentle on my stomach.
