What to expect...1st appointment

I am the first of my siblings to get pregnant and I'm totally clueless...

Can that has experienced it before give me advice on what happens at the first (8 week) appointment?

We listened to baby's heart beat via Doppler. Dr felt my belly I think to feel the uterus. I didn't have a pap smear or internal exam. That may depend on if you are due for one or not. Some doctors will do an early ultrasound to give a better edd based on baby's growth.

I had a Pap smear and internal exam and had to watch a video on what to expect during your first trimester. The doctor met with me after to answer any questions then had me go get bloodwork. Not a very eventful visit for me at all.

I think all doctors offices do it a little differently. With my first, I had to go in right away and get my pregnancy confirmed then a placement ultrasound at 7 weeks. This time (different doctor) they will have me come in at 9 weeks and I'm sure we will just listen to the heart beat as well as take stats
